Developed by Doodle Therapy Apps, Shelby’s Quest is designed by an Occupational therapist. This is a really good app for developing fine motor skills and visual perceptual skills by working on pinching, finger isolation, tracking and sorting.
Shelby’s quest guides the child along the journey assisting Shelby, the dog as she helps her forest animal friends overcome their challenges.
The app has three different quests, each focusing on developing a particular skill. Each quest, inturn has three levels of difficulty and you can track the progress of the child along the way.
In mazes, the child has to guide Skip, the salmon, upstream to help him find his family. This helps develops visual and fine motor skills as the child has to stay within the boundaries.
In Pinching, the child helps Samantha, the squirrel place the acorns in the correct bins, developing pinching and sorting skills.
In the third quest, the child has to trace the shapes to help Maurice, the moose, find his trail.
